Over the past 3 days one must be more & more patient if one goes to see the the Golden-crowned Sparrow, near the platform of the south walkway at Cranberry Marsh in southwest Whitby. This is 11 consecutive days.
Today (Nov.17) I was there from 0745 until 0930 and then from 1130 until 1300-- this 1st yr. bird, a lifer for many, visited the pathway at 0820, 1140 and 1145, the last 2 times for 1-3 minutes. Perhaps he is spreading out, coming back for guaranteed feed irregularly. Other birds-- 2 Fox Sparrows, Swamp Sp., Song Sp., White-thr. sp., Tree Sp., Cowbirds, Goldfinch, House Finch, a possible male Purple Finch, Cedar Waxwings. Doug Lockrey, Whitby
