One may need patience on these warm days to wait out the arrival of the
Golden-crowned Sparrow on the pathway between the table and the Raptor Watch
platform at Cranberry Marsh. On its day 13 (Friday) it elected to come out
into view perhaps every 60 minutes or so. Remember--it is a drab bird.

>From the west exit 401 at Salem Rd., south to Bayly, east through LakeRidge
to the first street (Hall's Rd.), south down to the second parking area.
>From the east exit 401 at Brock St., Whitby, south to Victoria , west
through several traffic lights to Hall's Rd. (see above).

At 10a.m., Nov.19, I saw the Greater White-fronted Goose fly into "the" pond
with 200 Canada Geese. With it was a Canada with a very mottled
black-and-white nape.

Exit 401 at White's Rd., north to Finch, turn west and after you pass
alongside Amos Pond on the north, turn north up the Scarborough-Pickering
townline, up and over the railway track--pond is on the west side of the
street. It's up to you whether you walk along the railway track for better
viewing.
