A kingbird observed earlier this month in Prince Edward County, and as recently as November 21st, is being identified by many birders who have looked at the photo as either western/eastern kingbird hybrid, or possibly even a Cassin's kingbird. The bird was first seen near 2168 County Road 7, and later appeared in a birder's backyard at 2075 County Road 7 on November 17, 20 & 21st. The bird has not turned up since. As either bird would be an exciting find in this area, birders are encouraged to check this area out in the event that it may still be around. The kingbird was photographed, perched on a rail fence, and repeatedly hawking after flies. Please e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you would like to have a look at the photo and provide your opinion on the identification. Although the photo is somewhat blurry, enhancement by today's computer software programs readily show some of the key features on the bird.

Directions: From Picton, take Bridge Street (east end of town at Stop sign) down the hill and continue out of town. Bridge Street eventually becomes Highway 33 (Loyalist Parkway). Follow to just west of the Glenora Ferry and turn right onto County Road 7 to Lake-on-the-Mountain and continue on 7, watching for the Civic Address numbers.
