Today I stopped at Hendrie Valley and easily saw the Great Egret
previously reported there. At Gray's and Fruitland Road, all three
scoters were visible as well.
The Rufous Hummingbird is still kicking around in Niagra Falls and
seems to be in good health as it was very aggressive towards the local
House Sparrows.
Gull watching was fairly productive; with good numbers of large
gulls around the falls, with the highlights being; Thayer's (control
gates and adam beck), Iceland (control gates), California (adam beck),
Lesser Black-backed (control gates, pumphouse, and
adam beck). The main highlight for me was finding the immature
Black-legged Kittiwake at the Whirlpool flying quite close (I was able
to pick it out with my bare eye).
See previous posts for directions to birding locations.

Good Birding,
Kenny Burrell
