Hi Ontbirders,

For the record, there were at least three Great Gray Owls in the Kinburn Side
Road & Torbolton Ridge Road area this morning (Monday) around 10h:30. All were
active & hunting. In the same area there was one Northern Shrike & a flock of
50+ Bohemian Waxwings. The male Barrow's Goldeneye was at Remic Rapids on the
Ottawa River.

Good 2005 birding!

Wiyh patience and/or decision to return a few times over the course of a day
you will likely find a bird which has been elusive for many folk lately.
>From 2p.m. onward on Monday, Dec.3, the SANDHILL CRANE could be seen
strutting about by himself in the waters just west of the Brock St.S.
bridge. Also seen --Hooded Mergansers, Buffleheads, Goldeneyes, Common
Mergansers, a Pintail , a male Belted Kingfisher and many Mute Swans.

>From the 401, go south down Brock St. in Whitby, through Dundas, another 1
km. to a "causeway bridge"--park your car and have a feast.

This AM I did my utmost to try to keep camera-buffs from closing in on,
indeed flushing, owls along Hall's Rd., while enjoying Rough-legged Hawks
and a Pileated Woodpecker along Hall's Rd.
