Hi Everyone
Just got back from afternoon of counting Great Grays and the numbers
continue to rise. I had 29 Great Gray Owls west of Ottawa at many of the
known locations. In the area of the intersection of Dunrobin Road and
Kilmaurs Side Road I had an amazing number- 14 ! Also during the day I
observed 2 Barred Owls, one along Carling Ave. near Rifle Road and one near
Thomas Dolan Parkway and Stonecrest Road. Both owls were observed perched
during the day light hours. Also, I observed 4 Northern Shrike and 5
Bohemian Waxwing. The waxwings were at Dunrobin and the shrikes were along
March Valley Rd., Huntmar Rd., Kinburn Side Rd and Carling Ave.& Rifle Rd.
The Red-headed Woodpecker was still present on January 4th at Constance
Bay.
If you require additional information, please contact me privately.
