Hi birders, I have not seen reports on Snowy Owl lately (except Amherst Island). If anybody is interested, I let you know that on Sunday afternoon there were four Snowy Owls, two juveniles and two adult males at around the general area of Metz. Metz is a few kilometers southeast of Arthur. All four Owls were seen by driving along the side roads and making frequent stops. We spotted two of them when they were flying along the road, above the field. The others were perching on fence posts or utility post. Also a flock of about a thousand or more Snow Buntings a Merlin and a Northern Shrike made that area even more interesting. The trip was led by Craig Potter, past president of Wild Bird, from Guelph. Have a good birding, Karl & Marienna Egressy www.kegressy.com
Direction: Take HW 9 (or HW 6) towards Arthur. >From HW 9 take 5th Line until it intersects Sideroad 25. One of the Owls was right there on a utility post. The rest were along the other country roads right around this area.
