Hi Everyone
The GGO's are still in good numbers along March Valley Road and in the
Dunrobin/Kilmaurs Side Road area. Today I observed 20+ and a few additional
owls along Dunrobin Road near Dunrobin. The Red-headed Woodpeckers were at
the old burn site feeding on the dead trees and occasionally calling. They
both appeared in good condition and hopefully will survive the rest of the
winter. If not at the old burn site check the feeders at 114 Goodin Street.

Directions: GGO/ From Ottawa travel west bound on Hwy. 417 to the March
Rd./Eagleson Road and exit right onto March Rd. Follow to Klondike Road and
turn right. Go east to March Valley Road and turn left. Follow along making
numerous stops scanning the fields. Late afternoon to dusk maybe the better
time to look.
GGO/From Ottawa travel west bound on Hwy. 417 to the March Rd./Eagleson Road
and exit right onto March Rd. Follow to Dunrobin Road and turn right
continuing northwest through Woodlawn. At the hill continue straight and
follow to
next intersection which has a yellow flashing light.
Directions:Red-headed Wdpk: From Ottawa travel west bound on Hwy. 417 to
the March Rd./Eagleson Road and exit right onto March Rd. Follow to Dunrobin
Road and turn right continuing northwest through Woodlawn. At the hill
turn right onto Constance Bay Rd following it for approx. 1.5 km. Turn left
on
Allbirch Road and drive 1.3 km to the " T " intersection. Turn left on
Bishop Davis Drive and then right on Bayview Drive. Follow Bayview Drive to
Ritchie St. Turn right and go a short distance to Whistler Rd. Turn left
and drive .3 km and watch for a gate on the right. The trail through the
burn area is opposite the gate. Parking is limited. The old burn area is on
your left. From the corner of Ritchie and Whistler the road is not
maintained during the winter months so you have to walk to the area. Goodin
St. is runs off Ritchie St.

A white phase gyrfalcon photo that was taken on Sunday was just sent to me.
It had just killed something about 100 yards from shore in Haileybury on
lake Timiskaming. Photo available upon request the photo is actually quite
good. I have always wanted to see one maybe one day. Happy birding
