Hi all, I ventured out into the cold yesterday to Orillia - Muley Point Rd. area and was able to spot 4 Great Gray Owls in the area. I actually didn't spot any right on Muley Rd. but while driving around the adjoining concessions and side roads I was easily able to spot them sitting on low branches right on the roadside. One of them was expelling a pellet as I watched him.
There are lots of arteries to take off this road - so plenty of driving to do if you want to. I spotted mine at the end of Bonnie Beach Rd. sitting in a tree right at the lake, and on concession's 9 and 10. During the drive up there I spotted what I think were 3 seperate pairs of red tail hawks. A good drive if you have half a day to spare. Muley Point Rd. is just East of Orillia off Hwy. 12. I took Hwy. 12 from Whitby towards Orillia (past Brechin) until I came to Muley Pt. Rd. where I turned left (right if you are coming from Orillia) and just drove around the area.
