Hi fellow bird watchers, I am disable so my bird watching relates to home bird
feeders and in my car along the back roads here.
I have a red Cardinal feeding ocasionally at my feeder, very skiddish, my wife
has thought she seen the female? This morning I seen the male in a cedar tree
across the road and then he flew up in a tree beyond my sight because of the
living room window.
I went to let the dogs out and there he was in the top of a elm tree, the sun
shinning on his feathers a beautifull picture. I used to have yellow grossbeaks
but for the past two years none, am I doing something wrong or type of feed?
Would appreciate any help or type of books to get? Thanks Keith Sherrard

Between 1pm and 2pm today I was at Halls Rd. and was able to see 2 Barred Owls
- one was located just off the North feeder path in an evergreen, and the other
was just off the South feeder trail entrance - he was very alert - unlike the
one a the North end - and after a few minutes of watching he took off and
caught something in the field across the path. He then disappeared into the row
of evergreens and I couldn't spot him anymore. I also saw a Sharp-shinned Hawk
roosted on a branch at the South end of Halls Rd. I did not spot anything on
Lakeridge Rd. or on Shoal Point Rd.

There were a large number of birds in or by the water also. Aside from the
geese and swans, there were several Long Tailed Ducks, and at least one
Bufflehead Duck that I could identify.

Halls Rd. is just East of Lakeridge Rd. off Victoria St. Take the Salem exit
from the 401 south to Bayly/Victoria - make a left and follow past Lakeride Rd.
Halls Rd. is your next right.
