Apologies for the lateness of this posting - I'm new to Ontbirds. In the early afternoon of Saturday, March 26, my wife and I observed a common loon flying over the Owen Point trail. I may be mistaken, but my impression is that this is quite an early sighting for this species, which I wanted to document. Paul Matthews Ottawa, Ontario Directions: To reach Presqu'ile Provincial Park, follow the signs from Brighton. Locations within the Park are shown on a map at the back of a tabloid that is available at the Park gate. Access to the offshore islands is restricted at this time of year to prevent disturbance to the colonial nesting birds there.
