Between 0830 and 1200, after several walkarounds of Thickson's Woods the
following were highlights seen by me-- Fox Sparrow(3), Hermit Thrush(3),
Brown Thrasher (2), Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (3), Northern Flicker (1),
Winter Wren (5), RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET (1), Golden-crowned Kinglet (many),
Brown Creeper (many), Red-breasted Nuthatch (1).
Over the meadow north of the woods-- 10 Tree Swallows. An early a.m.
American Woodcock had been seen alongside the car-park roadway.

Near the weir structure at the south end of Cranberry Marsh--BLUE-WINGED
TEAL. On the east pond of Cranberry Marsh yesterday and/or today--13 species
of ducks, incl. Green-winged teal, Ruddy Duck, Hooded Merganser, 3 Wood
Ducks, 10 American Wigeon, many Ring-neckeds, ----

Our "resident" Barred Owl is still hanging around, usually in the vicinity
of the east end of the north pathway off Hall's Rd.

Thickson's Woods-- exit the 401 at Thickson Rd. in east Whitby, south toward
the lakefront, turning east along the car-park roadway on the north edge of
the woods.
Cranberry Marsh, Hall's Rd.--exit 401 at Salem Rd. (in Ajax), south to
Bayly, east through Lakeridge Rd. to the first street (Hall's Rd.), south
toward the lake, parking in the roadside parking area at the north pathway
towards Cranberry Marsh.
