It was still there this morning.

 

At 8am it was mixed in with some gulls out in the lake, but shortly
afterward it flew south a few hundred yards and walked along the canal
section around the pedestrian bridge at the bottom of the Arboretum hill.

 

A mallard pair were "guarding" it, they accompanied it while it patrolled up
and down the shoreline.

Directions: (once in Ottawa)

 

Prince of Wales Drive to (Central) Experimental Farm. At traffic circle
drive into Arboretum and park just past the top of the tobogganing hill.

 

Walk down the pathways to the canal.
