April 25/05 Angus Campbell and myself found what looked like a "prairie
Merlin" north of Fish Point feeding on a blackbird sp. The mantle was of a
blue/gray and the underparts were a rich butterscotch colour and lacked a
strong "moustache". I have limited bird guides here and wish for a good web
site that has photos/descriptions of all Merlin sub sp. If my memory serves
me correctly I belive it was in fact the western bird.
