A fresh movement of White-throated Sparrows were evident this morning,
along with numerous Yellow-rumped Warblers, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and
Ruby-crowned Kinglets. Also heard singing this morning at the start of the
Shuster Trail was a WORM-EATING WARBLER. It was observed up high in the
trees! Perhaps this was the same bird reported near the Tip yesterday. Also
discovered this morning was a female PROTHONOTARY WARBLER. This is our
first report of this species this spring. It was observed a short distance
north of the Sparrow Field, along the main road. Also observed in the
vicinity were Pine Warbler, Black-throated Green Warbler, Nashville Warbler
and Red-bellied Woodpecker. Seen at tip were thousands of Red-breasted
Mergansers, many of the males vigourously displaying to females. Also
numerous were both species of Scaup. A couple of Surf Scoters were in
amongst them. Also spotted was a second summer Thayer's Gull.

The BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER was rediscovered this morning a short
distance north of the Visitor Centre. Once again it appeared to be part of
the same mixed flock of Yellow-rumped Warblers, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and
Chipping Sparrows. It was last seen actively moving south. Also reported
yesterday were CACKLING GOOSE, in the fields north of the Park, 25 WILLET
at the Tip, Sandhill Crane, a WHIP-POOR-WILL at Blue Heron, a few
Orange-crowned Warblers, Blackburnian Warbler, Orchard Oriole, Baltimore
Oriole, and Least Flycatcher.

The SUMMER TANAGER was last reported on Thursday (April 28th) from the
Redbud Footpath. Also the same day 12 AMERICAN AVOCETS were seen and
photographed at Wheatley Harbour.

Conditions are expected to remain unsettled and cool tomorrow with a slight
increased chance of rain.

Good birding,
