Good morning, Little rain overnight, coupled with northwest/west winds brought in few birds to the Park. Sunny and clear conditions, but little bird song greeted birders. The female PROTHONOTARY WARBLER was found again, this time giving generous looks as it picked insects in the sunshine along the East Beach by the Tip train stop. Also found nearby were single Pine and Black-and-White Warblers. A Magnolia Warbler was reported there too. A male RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER continues to parade up and down the Tip area, pausing briefly to perch at the tops of the trees. In total, 10 species of warbler have been reported this morning, including Blackburnian Warbler. Unfortunately, the BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER has not been seen so far today. In fact, it could not be relocated after its initial rediscovery just before noon yesterday. Similarly, the WORM-EATING WARBLER was not seen other than the original observation yesterday. Other noteworthy birds reported to the Visitor Centre include a late FOX SPARROW along the east Beach, south of the Shuster Trail, a pair of BLACK SCOTERS out at the tip, VIRGINIA RAIL calling from along the Shuster Trail, and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW. Also reported after yesterday's migration update was sent out were GRASSHOPPER SPARROW at the Solar panel display, WOOD THRUSH, HORNED GREBE at the Tip and a YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD along the main road.
