May 3 - In Dunville on Downy Road and Rt. 64 the Eurasian Widgeon was found
intermittently from 9:50 to 11:25 and 12:50 to 1:00 when the rain made it
difficult to see the ducks. The earlier than usual Black-bellied Plover was
only
seen between 10:28 and 10:33. The rest of the time it was hidden in the
grass, so the Marbled Godwit could have been there hiding in the grass also.
With
the Eurasian Wigeon there were also seen:
93 American Wigeon
7 Green-winged Teal
6 Gadwall
4 N. Pintail
4 Northern Shoveler
2 Bufflehead
1 Blue-winged Teal
1 Caspian Tern
1 juvenile dark phase Rough-legged Hawk
1 Osprey
at Rock Point Provincial Park there were 7 Yellow-rumped and 1 Palm Warbler

Take Regional Road 3, (not hwy 3) to Stromness. Just beyond the
village, turn right (west) on Regional Road 64. Take the next left,
Downey Road that goes directly to Rock Point. .3 km from your turn
there is an embanked flooded field. Both are here with numerous other
ducks. - Dan Salisbury

This location is about an hour west of the Peace Bridge at Fort Erie,
Ontario and Buffalo, NY.
Directions from the Peace Bridge: take Hwy 3 west through Port Colborne to
Reg. Rd 3. Take Reg Rd 3 several more miles, through Long Beach and Lowbanks
until you see a sign for the Provincial Park. Instead of turning, continue
on Reg Rd 3 only a little further to Reg Rd 64 and turn left. Take the first
left, Downey Road, that goes directly to Rock Point. .3 km after your turn
there is an embanked flooded field. Both are here with numerous other ducks.
