Saturday at 6:00 a.m. We heard but did not see a possible worm-eating warbler near the Prairie Warbler corner (and yes, the Prairie was there and singing). The possible WE was on the sand road about 100-200 metres east of the intersection of Twp. East 1/4 line S.W. and Concession no. 5, which is one road north of Highway 24. If you're unfamiliar with this area, this intersection is in the general vicinity north of Port Rowan and Long Point. The 1/4 line is one west of H-N Reg. Rd. 16. We would like to know if anyone else can corroborate this observation.
Also, Townsend sewage lagoons in the afternoon produced many ducks (including Pintail and female C. Goldeneye) and 5 species of shorebirds including a pair of Wilson's Phalaropes and an Upland Sandpiper heard from west-most lagoons. From Hgy 3 leading west of Simcoe, go east until sign for Townsend. Go north to first intersection, turn left and park before first house.
