No sign this afternoon of the Newcastle scissortail flycatcher. Scores of birders were out looking. Yesterday, the Presqu'ile piping plover was present on the park beaches as noted by Fred Helleiner. I was unsuccessful in relocating it.
Migrating monarch butterflies are very late this year, but two were finally spotted today - one at Waterdown and another at Port Hope. Your sighting reports are most welcomed by this writer. Don Davis Toronto, ON
