On the morning of Sunday, June 5, 2005 a small group of birders were treated to a variety of birds at the Amherstview sewage lagoons including northern pintail, northern shoveler, blue-winged teal, american widgeon, mallard, spotted sandpiper, semipalmated plover, and killdeer. The eurasian widgeons which had been reported late last week were not present.
To go to the Amherstview sewage lagoons, follow Taylor-Kidd Blvd. west out of Kingston (Taylor-Kidd Blvd runs parallel to the 401 from Kingston to Millhaven, ON). Take the last road that branches off Taylor-Kidd to the left just before you come to the bridge that crosses the CN rail tracks. Peg Hauschildt Kingston, ON
