Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 13:00:00
Total observation time: 5 hours

Official Counter: Jeff Schultz

Observers: Calvin Brennan, Dave Mendus, Paul Cypher, Tim Smart

Visitors:
Darlene Friedman
Gloria Harkness
Ron Harkness
Jim Maki

Weather:
The count was delayed early in the day due to fog. Visibility throughout
the day was greatly reduced in haze and fog. Winds were light to moderate
out of the southeast.

Raptor Observations:
There was very little in the way of a raptor flight with seemingly very few
birds feeling the urge to fly in advance of the approaching weather system.

Non-raptor Observations:
What was impressive today was the Blue Jay passage. This species has been
migrating in considerable numbers for about a week now with perhaps
today’s movement the largest within that time frame. With a lack of hawks
today, the counters undertook a systematic tally of the jays for the five
hours of the watch and ended up with a total of 35,718 birds.
