Visibility throughout the day was greatly reduced in haze and fog. Winds were light to moderate out of the southeast. Raptor Observations: There was very little in the way of a raptor flight with seemingly very few birds feeling the urge to fly in advance of the approaching weather system. Non-raptor Observations: What was impressive today was the Blue Jay passage. This species has been migrating in considerable numbers for about a week now with perhaps todays movement the largest within that time frame. With a lack of hawks today, the counters undertook a systematic tally of the jays for the five hours of the watch and ended up with a total of 35,718 birds. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/
