Weather:
After last night’s rain, today dawned to clearing skies, much cooler
temperatures from recent days and brisk winds. Conditions were generally
sunny throughout the day with generous amounts of cloud as a background.
The wind was for the most part out of the west and fairly strong, with
frequent very strong gusts.

Raptor Observations:
As is typical with strong westerly winds, the flight was scattered over a
broad front with birds doing a lot of quartering back and forth as they
made their way forward. As a result the birds would lose much of their
loft flying into the headwind and quite a few ended up dropping low over
the count area, giving some excellent views to the onlookers. The movement
overall was dominated by Turkey Vultures, a harbinger of things to come I’m
sure.
