Below,you will find Bruce Mackenzie's latest note regarding the
preservation of these lagoons. Thank you so much for your response to my
initial posting, and thank you to those who copied me when they wrote
the Mayor of Grimsby. It was a pleasure to read your impassioned,
detailed, convincing letters. There is still hope for our Lagoons!

The decommissioning of the DND lagoon is on hold. The Mayor of Grimsby ,
> Bob Bently raised concerns about the work in early September at the
Regional council meeting and the work on the tender process has been
> delayed.
> It is likely that the Public Works department will inform DND of the
> political interference and then DND will have to threaten something to
> get the Region to do something or they will have to come back to the
> table. It is now between the Town of Grimsby and DND. The Minister of
> Defence has yet to answer the Mayor's letter of last March. Please
thank everybody for their support. It is working.
