Hi Everyone
Today, October 30, 2005 at around 8:30a.m., we observed an adult male Common x Barrow's Goldeneye hybrid along the Ottawa River at Remic Rapids. It was in a small flock of Common Goldeneye and 1 adult male Barrow's Goldeneye. The bird is very similar to the individual that over wintered on the Rideau River near the Tennis Club last year. Today's individual has no black spur, the facial crescent mark was small and the checkered pattern on its sides showed little black.
