A Black-billed Magpie has been seen on several occasions (last on Nov 27th) just south of Mount Forest. It was originally discovered by Jack Zeinstra a few weeks ago. There is a possibility that this bird is an escapee as it is seen near a home that has several outdoor cages (Mute swan, domestic ducks). The owners were not around to confirm this. The bird could be seen from the road quite easily and I observed it for about 3/4 of an hour. Directions: take Wellington Rd 6 south of Hwy 89 (from Mount Forest) till you get to Side Rd 5W. Head east (only direction possible) till you get to the rural number 6903. The bird was best seen from the road near the pond area (south side of road) and will occasionally call.
