A Pied-billed Grebe was seen today by Dave Martin,Linda Wladarski,Ross
Snider and myself, along the Lawson Trail in Ingersoll.
It was seen at the west end of the trail, where the trail turns away from the
river. This same bird was originally seen on the Ingersoll CBC,on Dec 28.
The record is notable since it is only Oxford County's 2nd January record of
PB Grebe.
The same area has hosted 4 White-winged Crossbills for several
weeks. They[may] be found anywhere within the conifer block, west of the start of
the
trail.Look for Spruce with a lot of cones or listen for the birds, they are
very
vocal.
Directions-From Thames Street go west on King St. about .5km.Turn North just
before the miniature golf course and park at the gates.
