3/9/06- A flock of ~30 Common Redpolls turned up at our feeders here near Merrickville (to the SW of Ottawa). Among them is/was a single Hoary Redpoll. There's been few reports of Hoaries this winter, so I thought the bird was worth mentioning. This is also the first redpoll flock we've had at our feeders this winter (opposed to the odd single bird), presumably birds returning north.
