Hello Ontbirders

At 5:30 today I saw a male Snowy Owl sitting on a fencepost while driving
down Frank Kenny Rd between French Hill and Regimbauld roads. I also saw an
American Kestrel hunting in the same area. I did not check for the Great Grey
Owl sighted along Giroux.

Directions: From the 417 turn right (South) on Trim Road exit and then turn
left (East) on Innes Road, turn right (South) on Frank Kenny Rd.

It was generally a good day of birding despite the cold weather.

1. At LaSalle Park, a single horned grebe in winter plumage was
present. There was a good variety of species as well.
2. At Beamer Point, an immature golden eagle was spotted around 2:00
PM.
3. At the bottom of 50 Road, there were large flocks of long-tailed
ducks and scoters. Mixed in with the scoters was a single male king =
eider.
