On Saturday and Sunday this weekend I observed a GREAT HORNED OWL on a large
Osprey or Eagle nest near Loughborough Lake. Saturday an Adult and a
Fledgling was viewed. Sunday just the Fledgling. Also observed at this site
were a pair of LEAST BITTERNS and a EASTERN MEADOWLARK.
The Farmer who's property this nest is on would prefer not to have people on
his land. The nest is viewable from the road however.
To get to this site, From the 401 in Kingston, head north on Sydenham Road.
Turn East on Rutledge Rd. Turn South on Keeley Rd. The nest can be seen 1 km
down the road to the east.
