Either this is a new drake or the Eurasian Wigeon that disappeared from the marsh early last week has returned. It was foraging in front of the GM platform at 5pm

No sign of the Garganey

Highlights:

15 species of waterfowl including American Wigeon-2, Ruddy Duck-3, Bufflehead, and Ring-necked Duck

9 Species of Shorebirds (91 birds) ( Wilson's Snipe-1, Greater-2 and Lesser Yellowlegs-9, Solitary Sandpipers-5, Least-49, Semi-palmated Plover 7, etc.)
Most shorebirds were in Jim's pond. (small pond straight south of GM office)

5 species of Herons ( American Bittern-1, Great Egret-2, Green Heron-2 )

Terns 3 species: Caspian 33, Black 8, Common 6

Gulls 5 species: Little 7, Bonaparte's 658, Great Black-backed 1 immature

Several Moorhens, Coots, Pied-billed Grebes and Marsh Wrens present.

Directions

Exit from the 401 at the Harmony Rd. Exit(419) in Oshawa. Go south on
Farewell St. Colonel Sam Drive. Turn East onto Colonel Sam Drive and follow
to the parking lot at the GM Headquarters. Park in the west parking lot
close to the marsh. The east (GM) platform is visible from the NW corner of
the lot.
