The morning has not brought any rain as of yet and the birds
are still around with a few new birds around.
An obvious rise in the number of Wilson's Warbler,
Philadelphia Vireo and Red-eyed Vireos was noted.
Hooded Warblers have been seen by the Pony Barns and on
Spicebush Trail. A White-eyed Vireo was also seen in the
area of the Pony Barns and the Prothonotary Warblers
continue to put on shows for patient viewers on Tulip Tree
Trail and on Baennet Rd.
Blue-winged Warblers have been reported from all trails i
nthe park already today and an Orange-crowned Warbler was
seen on Bennet.
Last evening the Chuck-wills-widow was actually seen sitting
on Gardiner road calling away. Other observers weren't as
lucky while waiting for the chucks but were treated to a
quick look at a Whip-poor-will. Another interesting
variation of a common species was a yellow variant House
Finch that was seen in front of the first few cottages
inside the park gate.

Good Birding,

Ross Wood

I'm posting for the Friends of Point Pelee - the park email server is down
for the weekend.

Winds diminished overnight and this morning has been overcast but
essentially dry.

Yesterday a Yellow-billed Cuckoo was at DeLaurier.

The Laughing Gull was back at the Tip this morning. A Grasshopper Sparrow
was located near the solar panel and a Marsh Wren was also seen on the west
side.

Mourning Warblers were seen at several locations including Post Woods,
Woodland, and Tilden Woods. Also in Post Woods was a Golden-winged Warbler.

Along the Woodland Trail, sightings included Hooded, Cape May, Canada, and
Tennessee Warblers. A Marsh Wren was seen on Woodland as well.

Tilden Woods was another good location. Cerulean female, Mourning, Northern
Parula, Wilson's, and Blue-winged warblers were a few of the species seen.
Part way along Shuster Trail was a singing Yellow-breasted Chat.

Sixteen Willet and an American Golden Plover were at the Hillman Shorebird
cells this morning.

Finally, we have word that the Yellow-headed Blackbirds have returned to the
St. Clair National Wildlife Area.

Good Birding
