Winds diminished overnight and this morning has been overcast but essentially dry.
Yesterday a Yellow-billed Cuckoo was at DeLaurier. The Laughing Gull was back at the Tip this morning. A Grasshopper Sparrow was located near the solar panel and a Marsh Wren was also seen on the west side. Mourning Warblers were seen at several locations including Post Woods, Woodland, and Tilden Woods. Also in Post Woods was a Golden-winged Warbler. Along the Woodland Trail, sightings included Hooded, Cape May, Canada, and Tennessee Warblers. A Marsh Wren was seen on Woodland as well. Tilden Woods was another good location. Cerulean female, Mourning, Northern Parula, Wilson's, and Blue-winged warblers were a few of the species seen. Part way along Shuster Trail was a singing Yellow-breasted Chat. Sixteen Willet and an American Golden Plover were at the Hillman Shorebird cells this morning. Finally, we have word that the Yellow-headed Blackbirds have returned to the St. Clair National Wildlife Area.
