While conducting the Baillie Birdathon yesterday (153 sp.), we found 2
Worm-eating Warblers , one in the Wilson Tract, another behind the
trout pond at St. William Forestry Station. Also, Prairie,
Prothonotary, Cerulean and Hooded warblers in the Long Point area.
At 7 pm at Townsend Lagoons, we refound the Curlew Sandpiper, a
Red-necked Phalarope (male) and a lone Whimbrel.
Other good birds included 2 pairs of Sandhill Cranes, Sedge Wren and
Least Bittern at Big Creek Marsh off the Causeway.
Directions: Wilson Tract is west of #59, south of RR 60 on West
Quarter Line. St. Williams station is n. off #24 about 3 km north -
west of St. Williams.
Townsend Lagoons are n. of Highway 3 on RR# 69. Go 1.4 km to first
left after railway tracks and follow it .5 km to entrance on the
right.

A pair of Great Egrets are fishing in the large pond on the north side
of the North Service Rd between Guelph Line and Brant St, Burlington
(0930-1200 EDT, 26 May 2006). One has two bands: a yellow one on its
right leg and a red one on its left leg. We could not confirm banding
on the other. They seem to be catching quite a few fish, yellow in
colour and less than 6 inches in length.

At about 11:00 this morning I saw an adult Arctic and a 2nd year
Forster's Tern at Owen Point. The latter was still visible when I left
at 11:30.
From Brighton, follow the signs to Presqu'ile Park. Owen Point is in
the south-west corner of the Park. The map at the back of the tabloid
available at the Park gate shows its location.
