A male WINTER WREN, singing incessantly, at 14.00, near the FON headquarters in
North Toronto, was a July 30th biking & birding tour highlight.

Access the path at the South-east corner of Sheppard Avenue & Leslie (50 m
North of North York General Hospital) and travel South. The wren sang in
dense, mixed cover 150 m South of the 401 overpass & 150 m East of the FON
property.

A GREAT EGRET visited a Markham / Thornhill pond at 12.30, South of Hwy 7 &
East of Bayview Avenue, making it a first by this observer for this location
in 9 years of monitoring ... in effect, backyard species number 136. The pond
also harbours Great Blue Heron, Green Heron & Black-crowned Night-Heron.

VanHorn Park Pond is 100 m South of Hwy 7, between Bayview & Leslie, on Pond
Drive.
