Hi Everyone,
Yesterday, August 20, birded a number of the eastern lagoons. Overall, very little shorebird habitat, but observed 9 Red-necked Phalaropes in total at Alfred, St. Isidore and Casselman sewage lagoons. The Ruddy Duck numbers were impressive with a total of 228 birds. Didn't have any luck with the Little Blue Heron seen earlier at High Falls Conservation Area. If you require additional information, please email me privately.

Directions: From Ottawa take Hwy. 417 east to 174/Hwy 17 and follow to the town of Alfred. After passing through Alfred turn right (south) on Peat Moss Road and drive for 2 km. The lagoons are on your left (east side of road). Contact (during weekdays) Richard Villeneuve, Township of Alfred and Plantagenet at (613) 679-2292 for the required permit to enter the lagoons.
