Despite a haze to the east and very mild winds 6 oservers spent 3 hours on 
Friday, Sep.8 AM at Cranberry.
Several warbler species, including an Ovenbird and what looked like a (for all 
of 2 sec.) a Prothonotary!!!, rose-breasted Grosbeak aong others.

Group from California making a birding circuit into Ohio stayed for a brief
time.

Temp 21.2-24.9 C; Wind SW to S4-12 mph; Pressure 30.04 in Hg; Sky O%-40%
clouds with hazy conditions all day; visibility 11 km

Raptor Observations:
Now i remember why I dislike SW winds. No birds! Three migrant species:
Osprey, Harrier, Peregrine.

Resident Bald Eagles (ad and imm). Res (has stayed three weeks) Osprey and
(Res) Harrier over marsh too.

Non-raptor Observations:
Several species of warblers moving through before noon. 3 Palm Warbler on
ground.

Predictions:
First day for Hawk Festival. Go to HBMO for details. Programs for everyone.
hawk ID workshop, banding demonstrations of song birds, raptors, and
Monarch Butterflies. Birding equipment from Pelee Wings Store. Food and
friends.
