Weather:
Conditions today were bright overall, if not totally sunny with some low
cloud burning off early and some mid-level clouds providing a good
background for the flight. Heavier clouds eventually pushed into the area
from the southwest ahead of the rain forecast for the overnight period.
Winds were moderate to fairly strong throughout the day from the northeast
bearing more to the east-northeast in the afternoon. Winds picked up
somewhat as the frontal system intensified late in the day.

Raptor Observations:
The flight was similar to yesterday although heavier overall and dropping
off quicker in the latter portions of the count probably because of the
developing weather system. Sharpies, Kestrels and Harriers dominated the
day early and were active right from the first hour of the count. Small
groups of Broad-wings were seen during the morning but as yesterday, the
strongest push wasn’t until the afternoon with a more or less continuous
pulse of activity between 1-3 pm. The flight tapered off from that point,
although one of largest kettles of the day was seen during the final hour
of the count.

Non-raptor Observations:
