Weather: Today's skies were mainly cloud covered with winds from the Northwest. Temperatures hovered around 13 degrees Celsius. Raptor Observations: Today's migration was steady with a variety of species including Broad-winged Hawks that formed kettles of varying sizes both over Lake Erie and to the northeast and east of the tower. Kettles sizes between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. were 8, 21, 26, 60, 18, and 50 birds along with individuals. Between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. the kettles ranged from 13, 45, 61 to 92 birds along with some individuals. The visiting Osprey continues to entertain visitors. Non-raptor Observations: Several thousand Blue Jays flew over the site today. A Cooper's Hawk was observed diving at a Blue Jay to the southwest of the tower at 8:15 a.m. EST.
