The day brightened somewhat by noon but remained quite overcast until mid afternoon when some clearing occurred. Winds were very light throughout the day and from the southwest switching more to the southeast late in the afternoon. Raptor Observations: Even during the drizzle early in the day there was a considerable movement of Sharp-shins under way. This would increase once the showers let up and skies brightened at midday. There was a steady and quite heavy movement for much of the remainder of the day including a tally of 190 Sharpies during the 12-1 hour. With the light winds the birds were scattered throughout the entire sky often with lines of five or six and even up to a dozen birds coming across at once. Numbers of other species were quite low with only a couple of large TV groups noted moving well to the north of the count area. Non-raptor Observations: Large numbers of crows have been seen migrating through the last couple of days. As well today there were hundreds of Tree Swallows and American Pipits making the passage southward. =======================================================================Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/
