Winds were moderate but gusty from the west. Raptor Observations: Similar to Saturdays flight, Sharpies were moving in numbers early today and continued to do so throughout the day. By mid morning, vultures were also moving steadily although the flight overall was not heavy. With the west wind, the birds were spread over a very broad front, making for quite challenging counting. Highlights today included the seasons first Northern Goshawk and the years 9th Swainsons Hawk. The Swainsons Hawk, a light-morph juvenile, made its appearance in mid afternoon in a group of 8 TVs and obliged us by flying directly overhead. Non-raptor Observations: Crows and Tree Swallows continued to be the dominant non-raptor migrants. The falls first Tundra Swans, a group of 5, were also noted today. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/
