Heavier clouds moved into the area during the afternoon ahead of showers predicted for the overnight and early tomorrow. Winds were light southwest early becoming moderate southeast by late morning. Raptor Observations: Much of the flight today took place before noon with most of the movement happening well to the north of the count area, a predictable pattern on south winds. One notable exception though was an excellent view of a juvenile Golden Eagle that made the passage just to the north of the watch. Non-raptor Observations: Tree Swallows were again present today in some numbers, although not like the previous day, and each group was meticulously picked through for Cave Swallows. We are approaching the time frame for this rarity showing up here in southeast Michigan and todays weather conditions are very much similar to days when they have been recorded in the past. Certainly if there are similar conditions within the next week or ten days, it is a good bet that a few will be spotted at the watch. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/
