Heavier cloud cover pushed into the area in the mid afternoon. Winds were light to moderate predominately from the west. Raptor Observations: After a bit of a slow start, today was a vast improvement over the last two days with steady movement of Buteos and vultures throughout the day. The flight was spread out somewhat, typical of conditions with west winds but much of the movement was overhead and many of the birds seen during the day were low. The Red-shoulder flight was particularly impressive with many individuals giving the watchers excellent views. Perhaps surprising was that only a single Golden Eagle was recorded, peculiar given the significant movement of other species. Non-raptor Observations: Among the usual sparrows today were noted American Tree and Field. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/
