A TUV of 0, falling BP and very mild morning contributed to very little raptor movement along the Lake Ontario north shore. Indeed, a low-flying MERLIN and 4 Sharp-shinned Hawks over 4 hours was the tally.
The weather brought out many visitors, and, indeed, some good "other" birds were observed along the south pathway-- both Kinglets, the Northern Parula (3 successive days), FIELD SPARROW. On the wetland a late MOORHEN was noted in the early afternoon. Two people reported an immature Northern Shrike towards the north end of Hall's Rd. Since Aug.21 we have counted 7085 migrating raptors at the CMRW platform, with record years for the Bald Eagle and Osprey. >From the west, exit from the 401 at Salem Rd. in Ajax, south to Bayly, east >through LakeRidge to Hall's Rd. >From the east, exit from the 401 at Brock St./Whitby, south to Victoria, west >over to Hall's Rd.
