With birders anxiously counting down towards December 1 a favourite locale certainly is Cranberry Marsh at the Raptor watch platform. This morning (Nov.17) Jim Fairchild and I feel that we had a female Eurasian Wigeon in the wetland in front of the platform. Its head was somewhat rusty and there was "no colour contrast between the head and the flanks". It did not give us a great view, and then flew off with Mallards. 2 N. Pintails and several N.Shovelers were noted. No report of the Moorhen for 2 days. A Red-breasted Nuthatch enjoys our suet feeder. Oh yes, Jim heard a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET--and, indeed, we did find him.

A dark morph Rough-legged Hawk put on a great hovering show for an hour. An adult Peregrine Falcon came through before noonhour.

It was wonderful to have Geoff Carpentier back on board, following his visit to Eastern Europe.
