Hi All,

A male Long-tailed Duck was seen this afternoon, about 3:30 p.m, at the
Strathroy Sewage Lagoons. It was swimming with hundreds of Ruddy Ducks in the
pond on the left as you enter the lagoons. Also seen in the pond on the left
were Bonaparte Gulls.

On the pond on the right were Buffleheads, Scaup, Northern Shoveller,
Canvasback and a Pied-billed Grebe.

To and from the lagoons we spotted 2 American Kestrels.

At 4:15 PM, Sunday, Nov 19, my wife and I were driving south on Ramsay 7A and
had just passed the Drummond Side Rd cross rd, when my wife noticed something
odd in the left hand field by the water in a cow pasture, six Sandhill Cranes!
This was quickly confirmed by two OPP officiers who pulled up beside us to find
out what we were doing and seemed to know about the cranes there, so they moved
on.

Directions: Hwy 7 to Carleton Place. Turn right onto main st of CP(Bridge
Street) and go right thru town until you come to the townline rd lights (4th
croos street after crossing the mighty mississippi river. Go straight thru
lights and the next stop sign is Ramsay 7A. Turn right onto Ramsay 7A and head
north several kms. They will be on the right hand side by water in a open
pasture maybe 200 m before Drummond Side Rd crosses Ramsay 7A

good luck
