Spent a few hours today as well other birder's from Ottawa; Ajax, & Quebec
enjoying the great weather & good birding. In owl wood's a single Northern
SawWhet Owl was located just outside the jack pine plantation just off to
the left of the main trail. The jack pine plantation had many long eared
owls, it took some work and patience to get a pic, see link's for LEO/NSWO
images. No snowy pic as it was out of range and was observed too long.At
the KFN property one snowy owl was observed around 12:45 pm being
harrassed by a pair of crows on the ground & then a pair of gulls. It
eventually flew east out over the lake and never returned. Harriers & red
tails were found in the many fields.
