Just returned from a short drive around the Long Point area & saw 50+ =
sandhill cranes in the fields south of Conc. 1 just west of Hwy #59. =
Conc. 1 is the 3rd road north of the Causeway heading into Long Point. =
I'm sure there are many more in the area. From the lookouts in Port =
Rowan & just west of Port Rowan there were 60+ tundra swans & rafts of =
red heads, canvas backs & scaup.

I couldn't linger long as the turkey was in the oven. On my return home =
found 6 male cardinals under one of the feeders. Early this morning I =
heard a cardinal singing. First "singing" Christmas cardinal that I =
can remember.

At 10 a.m. this morning, Dec. 26th, I saw a very active Song Sparrow at =
the bridge that crosses the oxbow on Little River, just east of the =
sewage treatment plant. It's the first winter Song Sparrow that I have =
seen there in the three years since I moved to Windsor.

Little River park is accessible from Wyandotte St. in Windsor, just east =
of the bridge that crosses Little River.
