While walking outside this morning in my backyard I saw one adult turkey
vulture rocking back and forth over my yard. Just moving from Saskatchewan a
few months ago, this bird is a rarity this far into winter. Don't know if this
is normal for these parts but maybe this mild weather has kept a few from
flying to Florida. I saw this bird in the NW part of Peterborough.

Rob Dobos earlier reported the Razorbill this morning, we'd like to
update that by a few hours. Linda, my wife, saw it at noon-ish today
from the far west end of the golf course. The bird flew in off the lake,
turned east and paralleled the shore until she lost it from view. She
saw it for about 10 seconds. It was a little more than half way out from
shore to the green buoy and the hunters. Ron Pittaway and I were just
putting our things away in our cars and by the time we ran to the shore,
it was behind the many trees along the shore, out of view. We met two
other birders at the golf club house, across from the Oban Inn, who
thought they had seen it shortly thereafter still flying east.

Directions: To reach the west end of the golf course, enter NOTL by
Hwy.55 as usual. Turn left at the golfcourse where Hwy.55 ends, drive
down about 1/2 km to the end of the golf course where there is a small
pull off and a cairn commemorating the Battle of Fort George.
