Heya,
today I visited the old landfill on the corner of Churchill line and Blackwell with my dad and Brett Woodman. We ended up getting more than we bargained for. At 5:15 pm a NORTHERN SHRIKE was hunting and we even watched it kill a tree sparrow! Later on just after 6:00 a juvenile SNOWY OWL flew in and landed. Finally after much anticipation a SHORT-EARED OWL started hunting near the snowy owl, just in time before it got too dark. This is an excelent grassland site that should be visited. Earlier in the day we were at the Point Edward lighthouse in point Edward where we saw an adult ICELAND GULL and a PEREGRINE FALCON which was sitting on the bluewater bridge. No sign of the harlequin ducks.
good birdin',
