Good Evening,

This afternoon a quick trip around Southern Bruce county produced a few
good birds. Horned Larks were along the edges of several roads and fields
between the towns of Walkerton and Paisley along Highway #3. One small flock
of approx. 30-40 birds, was a mix of Horned Larks and a few Snow Buntings
was observed just north of the Dunkel Restaurant. Several other groups were
observed along Bruce-Saugeen Townline Rd.
At MacGregor Point Provincial Park a Brown Thrasher was observed at the
start of the Huron Fringe Trail with the usual suspects. The bird was
actively feeding on raisins that had been left. The bird has been hanging
around several days according to one gentleman meet along the trail. A quick
note is that for the first time in years at the park very few birds had
bands on them. Only a single Chickadee was banded from what we saw there
today. Just outside the park boundaries 3 Wild Turkeys were along the fence
line one in a small tree.
On the way home a first year Snowy Owl was located along Bruce-Saugeen
Townline Rd, just west of Concession 20. The heavily Barred bird was sitting
on a hydro pole. Not a bad way to spend a few hours!
